Why Thanksgiving Is a Mattress Weekend
Thanksgiving is when spare beds get tested. Family drives in, students come home from university, and the “guest room” turns out to be a sofa or a mattress that has seen better years. Many Canadian retailers advertise Thanksgiving mattress sales for the same reason: people have a long weekend to set up a room and a deadline to meet.
Canadian Thanksgiving falls on the second Monday of October, which is October 12 in 2026. That gives you roughly one week from today.
We are not running a countdown timer or a made-up “was/now” price. Each size has one listed price, shown on the Calgary and Edmonton pages, and delivery is free in both cities.

A single guest-room mattress starts at $110 in Calgary and $130 in Edmonton; a queen starts at $199 and $210. These are the lowest-priced options from the price lists on our city pages (checked October 6, 2026).

Which One for Which Guest?
- Occasional guests (a few nights a year): the 5-inch foam medium-firm mattress is the budget pick. It is a sensible choice for a room that is used rarely.
- A student or relative staying for weeks: step up to a 10-inch DreamBreeze. More thickness generally means more cushioning for longer stays.
- A room you also want to use yourself later: the CloudPillow 12-inch pillow top or the 14-inch LuxReve are the comfort-first options. See the full Calgary size guide or Edmonton size guide if you are unsure between double and queen.

Setting Up the Guest Room in 10 Minutes
Measure the doorway and stairwell before it arrives. Mattresses are delivered wrapped, so the main job on arrival is unwrapping and letting the foam settle. Foam mattresses that arrive compressed can take some time to reach their full shape, so unwrap one earlier than the day guests arrive. Add a mattress protector and you are done.
